A delegation on behalf of Kano Patriotic Development Forum (KPDF) led by the head of management Director Alh Surajo Garba Karaye along with Deputy Director Empowerment Alh Sanusi Mohammed Garko & Deputy Director Engagement, visited Kano Kantin Kwari Market as directed by the forum’s Chairman Lt Gen AB Dambazau PhD CFR (Rtd) to convey the forum’s sympathy message on the recent fire incident that destroyed properties worth millions of naira & other valuables.

During the visit, the delegation, accompanied by the market leadership, toured the areas affected by the fire to assess the extent of damage caused.

Alh. Surajo, KPDF Director, in his remarks stated that, the incident affected not only the marketers but the entire Kano State and the country at large, considering the fact that, Kantin Kwari Market is one of the Africa’s largest markets, attracting customers from various states, regions & even some countries.
The KPDF considers it necessary to visit and sympathize with the victims, looking at ways to assist them through collaboration with relevant bodies.
KPDF presented a formal letter of sympathy to the Market association’s leadership, which was warmly received , acknowledged and appreciated.
This show of concern indicates the forum’s soft mindedness & readiness to stand firmly behind the kwari market association & all its members during & after this trying period. The letter serves as a sign of a cordial relationship that exists between the KPDF & Kantin Kwari Market association.

The Market leadership expressed happiness & gratitude to KPDF, commending the forum’s founding fathers for their wisdom to initiate such kindhearted forum aimed at making life better for citizens especially our jobless youths that aimlessly roam around the streets unleashing terror to innocent people. They viewed the visit as a demonstration of patriotism and concern.
Alh. Nura Hussain Abbas, Chairman and Founder of the popular NURA MAI DAMAS NIGERIA LIMITED, who spoke on behalf of the Market members, appreciated KPDF’s effort to reach out to them not only to support them but to give them courage to accept in good faith such divine trial. He further described the visit as a brotherly one in Islam, which symbolises taking part in happiness and in sadness as the case may be.
Alh. Nura & other members of the market prayed for the forum’s Chairman Lt. Gen AB Dambazau for God’s protection, guidance, uplifting and provision of opportunities to benefit the society. The visit was concluded with prayers for Allah’s mercy, blessings, progress, protection & prevention of further occurrences of such nasty incident anywhere in the state and the country in general.
